Commissioned by Illy in 2000 by way of a student competition as part of their celebrated Art Collection. I photographed fellow students directly from above, the shadow of the students only visible whilst the cup is on the sauce… With the student revealed when you lift the cup to drink the espresso. This simple design was thought to capture the innovative, irreverent spirit of one of the world’s most prestigious art colleges.
